Hidden Cities is part of the project PUblic REnaissance: Urban Cultures of Public Space between Early Modern Europe and the Present funded by the Humanities in European Research Area (HERA) grant and includes universities from Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and the UK. The project aims to examine how public spaces were shaped by everyday activities between 1450 and 1700.

Visitors can use the interactive map to navigate through their research of Hamburg and compare modern and historic images of geo-referenced places.
